Grenada is an independent three-island state (Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique); the main island is compact and hilly, and most hotels sit on the south-west tip near the airport and St George's. It lies at the southern edge of the hurricane belt, but Carriacou and Petite Martinique were badly damaged by Hurricane Beryl in 2024, so check what has reopened before booking there. Keep one base on each island you visit.

Safety
- Traffic drives on the left; minibuses are fast and roads are steep with sharp bends.
- Keep valuables out of sight on beaches and in cars.
- Sun and sea: the sun is strong all year; watch for currents and rip tides on unpatrolled beaches, and swim where locals swim.
- Hurricane season (Jun–Nov): follow local warnings and your airline; if a storm is forecast, leave early or shelter where your accommodation tells you.
Grenada is the southern end of the Grenadines chain; St Vincent and the Grenadines lies to the north, reached by small plane or by ferry via Carriacou and Union Island.
