About these names
Malé is a grid of narrow one-way streets on a small island. The harbour and the fish and produce markets are on the north side. Sultan Park, the National Museum and the Grand Friday Mosque are in the north-east and centre, Chaandhanee Magu is the main east-west shopping street, and the Artificial Beach and Republic Square are on the south-east shore.
