Malé by district
Malé is a grid of narrow one-way streets on a small island. The harbour and the fish and produce markets are on the north side. Sultan Park, the National Museum and the Grand Friday Mosque are in the north-east and centre, Chaandhanee Magu is the main east-west shopping street, and the Artificial Beach and Republic Square are on the south-east shore. Hulhumalé is a separate island town next to the airport, joined by the Sinamalé bridge and the ferries.
