Land at Velana, sleep on land the night your transfer will not connect, and pick a resort within one speedboat hop or a local island on the public ferry; never plan a same-evening seaplane on a late landing.

Malé Atoll is the arrival hub. The capital, Hulhumalé and the airport are linked by a bridge; from there, speedboat resorts and local islands like Maafushi are 30–90 minutes away, and seaplanes serve farther resorts. Each mode has a different last departure: seaplanes stop at sunset, public ferries follow a timetable, speedboats depend on the resort and the sea.
