Comoros is three islands (Grande Comore, Mohéli and Anjouan) with limited tourism infrastructure; inter-island flights and boats run irregularly and are the main constraint. Mayotte, nearby, is French and has separate entry rules. The country is conservative and Muslim, the drier cooler months are roughly May–October, and cyclones are possible roughly December–April.

Country rules
- Check visa and entry rules for your passport with the Comorian authorities before booking; visas on arrival have been available for many nationalities, but confirm before you fly.
- Book a travel-clinic visit several weeks ahead; ask about malaria prevention and whether a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for your route.
- Inter-island flights and boats are irregular and sea crossings can be unsafe in rough weather; prefer flights and keep a buffer day.
Etiquette
- Comoros is conservative and Muslim; dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered), and swimwear only at hotel beaches.
- Alcohol is available in few places; do not drink in public.
