Sept-Rivières is a coastal strip of two towns (Sept-Îles, Port-Cartier) with a huge roadless-feeling hinterland of rivers, lakes and boreal forest behind it. The towns work with a car and 2–3 nights; the interior works only with an outfitter, a bush plane or a snowmobile, and only if you book ahead. Getting here is the real cost: the drive from Québec City is 638 km, and flights are priced like long-haul.
