Safety
- Street crime, including armed robbery, occurs in Georgetown: avoid walking after dark and use taxis recommended by your hotel.
- Malaria and dengue are present in the interior; get advice from a travel clinic before you go.
- Driving is on the left; roads outside the coast are unpaved and unlit.
- Flooding affects the coast in heavy rains; Georgetown lies below sea level.
