Gabon's draw is its rainforest parks, and they are reached by light aircraft, boat, the Transgabonais railway or long drives on forest roads, so the logistics are the trip. Book parks through lodges or operators that include transfers, and allow buffer days for weather and delays. Prices are high and independent travel outside Libreville is hard. The drier months are roughly June–August and a shorter spell around December–January.
