Ózd is a former iron-works town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, one of the poorest in Hungary, 53 km from Miskolc. Its draw is a compact industrial-heritage cluster on Gyár út — a factory-history museum, a national film theme park and a digital exhibition in the old power plant — plus two medieval and Baroque churches in the outlying villages. Rail and bus both run about every two hours; the town is a day trip or a single night, not a multi-day stop.
