The honest verdict

Malé is a crowded island about 2 km long, with narrow streets, scooters and no shade. Most visitors pass through it on the way to a resort or a local island. The trips that go wrong are the ones that treat the capital as a stopover of minutes: a late flight, a seaplane that has stopped for the day, or a public ferry that leaves once a day. Four clusters cover Malé and Hulhumalé.
