The Fraser Valley is the farmland belt east of Vancouver, running from Langley out to Hope along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is a car region: towns sit 20–60 minutes apart and rural sights and wineries have no useful bus service. Sleep in Langley if you want Vancouver transit and cheap access to the city; sleep in Abbotsford or Chilliwack if you are heading for the mountains, Harrison Hot Springs or the US border. Most travellers see it as a half-day stop on the way to or from the Interior, not a destination in itself.

Wettest November–February; July–August are the driest and warmest months, roughly 22–25 °C by day. Snow is rare on the valley floor but common on the Coquihalla and at higher trailheads.

May–September is the reliable window for hiking, wineries and the lake parks. November is the one cold-weather draw: bald eagles gather on the Harrison and Fraser rivers near Mission.
