British Columbia is nearly a million square kilometres of mountain ranges between the Pacific and the Rockies, so a trip is really a choice of one corridor: the coast (Vancouver, Victoria, Tofino), the Okanagan wine and lake country, or the Kootenay and Rockies side. Distances are long and ferries eat hours, so two bases in a week beats four. Fly into Vancouver (YVR), and only add the Rockies if you have 10 days or are driving one-way to Calgary.
