Aranmula
Half a day is enough: watch the Pampa river, see the temple and buy a metal mirror. Skip unless you time the snake-boat race (Onam) or want a quiet village stop between Pathanamthitta and Chengannur.
Aranmula is a small temple town on the Pampa river in Central Travancore, known for its annual snake-boat race (Aranmula Valamkali) and the handcrafted Aranmula kannadi (metal mirror). Most visitors come for a few hours on the way to Pathanamthitta or Chengannur. The village has no nightlife and limited accommodation; plan it as a day trip.
