Edathua sits in the Kuttanad wetlands of Alappuzha district, Kerala, 14 km west of Thiruvalla. Its draw is the St. George Forane Church, a pilgrimage site that fills in May for its feast. The village is small and quiet, ringed by canals, paddy fields and the Pamba River. Plan a few hours here, not a night.
