Half a day from Lviv: see the Renaissance square and castle, then return. Not worth an overnight unless you have a car and want a quiet base.
Zhovkva is a small Renaissance town 30 km north of Lviv, built around a market square and a castle. Its main sights — the square, the castle, two cathedrals and a ruined synagogue — fill 3–4 hours on foot. Most travellers come as a half-day trip from Lviv by bus or train.

Safety
- The Baroque Synagogue is in a dreadful condition of disrepair — view from outside only.
- Basilian Monastery: a mass grave from WWII was discovered under it; the site is still under investigation — check before visiting.
- Train and bus schedules to Lviv are limited on Sundays; check return times before you go.
