One day in Victoria
Start at the Cittadella while it is cool and quiet. Walk up through the gate, follow the lanes to the cathedral and the bastions, and look in on the archaeology and folklore museums if they are open — hours vary, so check locally. The views take in most of Gozo, which is useful for planning the rest of your day.
Come down for the market area around Independence Square, then St George's Basilica a few minutes away. Market days and hours are not fixed for visitors, so confirm locally. Lunch in the centre, then choose one afternoon excursion: Ġgantija temples by bus, or Xlendi for a swim and a cliff walk. Both are short rides from the bus terminus, but check the timetable and the last bus back.
If you only have an afternoon, drop the museums and do the Cittadella plus the basilica, then eat in Victoria. That is the honest minimum for Victoria itself.

Two days
Day one as above. On day two, go to the coast: Xlendi in the morning for a swim and the walk along the cliffs, or Marsalforn if you prefer a harbour and easier access. Ramla Bay is the sandy option, reached by bus from Victoria, and it is the busiest beach on the island in July and August.
If you walk, the routes between Xlendi, Sanap Cliffs and the villages are exposed with little shade. Carry water and start early. Buses back to Victoria thin out in the evening, so check the last departure before you set off.
Three days
Day three is for the water or a longer walk. Boats toward Comino and the Blue Lagoon are usually picked up around Mġarr harbour, a short bus ride from Victoria — routes, departure points and timetables vary by operator and season, so confirm with the operator before you plan the day. Diving is the other reason to stay a third day, with dive centres around Xlendi, Marsalforn and Mġarr.
If you would rather stay on land, use day three for a second village: Xagħra for Ġgantija and the windmill, or Għajnsielem near Mġarr for the harbour and the ferry. Both are easy bus hops from Victoria.
