Trøndelag is Middle Norway: Trondheim and its cathedral, the wide Trondheimsfjord, salmon rivers, and uplands at Røros and Oppdal. Most travellers pass through on the way north or south. Stop for two nights in Trondheim; treat Røros, Oppdal and the coast as separate trips that need a car or a full day each.
