Ponce Inlet
Stay 1–2 nights if you want the lighthouse and quiet beach; otherwise day-trip from Daytona Beach Shores or New Smyrna Beach — 20–35 min by car.
Ponce Inlet is a small barrier-island town at the south end of the Daytona Beach peninsula, built around Florida's tallest lighthouse (175 ft), a sea-turtle hospital and a fishing inlet. There are no hotels inside the town limits, so most visitors sleep in Daytona Beach Shores or New Smyrna Beach and drive in. Two nights covers the lighthouse, the Marine Science Center and Lighthouse Point Park without rushing.

Getting around
You need a car. VOTRAN route 17A runs north–south on Atlantic Avenue and stops at the lighthouse and Marine Science Center, but only Monday–Saturday roughly 6:00–19:15, with no Sunday service. Parking at the lighthouse and Lighthouse Point Park is free.
