Narva is Estonia's easternmost city, sitting directly on the Russian border across the river from Ivangorod. Almost everything worth seeing is inside a 15-minute walk: Hermann Castle and its museum, the 17th-century bastions, the Kreenholm factory island and the Orthodox cathedral. The city was rebuilt after 1944, so expect Soviet blocks rather than old-town streets. Come for the border geography and the castle, stay one night, and pair it with Narva-Jõesuu or Sillamäe on the coast.

The centre is walkable in 15–20 minutes end to end. City buses run on Tallinn street and to the districts; timetables and mobile tickets are on pilet.ee. Taxis are cheap and easy to book by app.
