Dibbaدبا

A half-day stop for the beach and a fish lunch, or a base for east-coast diving and mountain hiking: one night is enough.

Dibba is a twin town split between Fujairah and a Sharjah exclave, with a third part across the Omani border. The UAE side offers a relaxed corniche, a small fort, and access to reefs and the Hajar mountains. Most travellers use it as a lunch stop between Fujairah and Musandam or as a quiet weekend base.

Watch out

Safety

Very safe; petty crime is rare. The main risk is heat exhaustion in summer and the Omani border crossing if you lack a visa.
  • The Omani border at Dibba Al-Baya: you need a visa if you cross; check the rules before driving north.
  • Alcohol is not served in Sharjah (Dibba Al-Hisn); Fujairah has licensed hotels.
  • Summer heat (Jun–Sep) makes daytime outdoor activity unpleasant; plan for early morning or evening.
