Spend 1–2 days in Embbu as a day‑trip from Nairobi or a short stop on a Mount Kenya itinerary; easy to reach by bus.
Embu is the capital of Embu County, perched on the southeast foothills of Mount Kenya. It is a market town for a fertile highland area famous for tea, coffee and macadamia. The town is reachable by a 3‑hour bus from Nairobi and offers a few budget guesthouses, local eateries and easy walking around the centre.
