Woodstock is a small southwestern Ontario city on the upper Thames, halfway between London and Kitchener on Highway 401. Downtown Dundas Street holds a century of brick storefronts, two free museums and the old town hall; Vansittart Avenue has some of Ontario's best-preserved Victorian houses. It works as a single night on a London–Toronto drive, or a half-day stop on the VIA Windsor–Toronto line, not as a destination on its own.
