Give Kalundborg one night, or a long day-trip from Copenhagen: the five-towered church and Røsnæs peninsula are the reasons to come.
Kalundborg is a small west-Zealand town of about 17,000 people on a fjord between the Røsnæs and Asnæs peninsulas. Its medieval High Town holds a five-towered church from around 1220, and the 15-km Røsnæs peninsula west of town is the nature draw. The train from Copenhagen takes 1 h 30 min to 1 h 50 min, so it works as a day-trip or a single overnight stop on the way to Aarhus or Samsø by ferry.
