Toki土岐市
Skip Toki unless you are a pottery buyer or on a Mino-yaki trail: half a day is enough for the ceramic district and a kiln visit.
Toki is a mid-sized city in Gifu Prefecture, one of Japan's largest pottery-producing regions under the Mino-yaki name. The town itself is quiet, with a few kiln studios and a ceramic museum. Most travellers pass through on the Chuo Expressway or the JR Chuo Line between Nagoya and Matsumoto. It works as a short stop for anyone interested in ceramics, but not as a destination.
