Marieville is a small town of about 10,000 on the St. Lawrence plain, 43 km east of Montréal and 22 km north of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Its draw is not the town itself but the surrounding Rouville countryside: orchards, cider houses, maple groves and Mont Saint-Grégoire. Most travellers pass through on a half-day loop from Montréal or use it as a cheap sleep between Montréal and the Eastern Townships.

Getting around

A car is effectively required. The village core is walkable in 10–15 min, but orchards, cider houses and the mountain are on rural roads with no useful bus service. From Montréal take Highway 10 east and Route 227 north, about 43 km.
