Marieville
Skip as a base: it is a 30–40 min drive from Montréal with one church and a bowling alley. Go only if you are already in Rouville for cider and orchards.
Marieville is a small town of about 10,000 on the St. Lawrence plain, 43 km east of Montréal and 22 km north of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Its draw is not the town itself but the surrounding Rouville countryside: orchards, cider houses, maple groves and Mont Saint-Grégoire. Most travellers pass through on a half-day loop from Montréal or use it as a cheap sleep between Montréal and the Eastern Townships.
