Karawaci (Lippo Karawaci) is a company new town built by the Lippo group west of Tangerang, inside the Greater Jakarta sprawl. Streets are clean and leafy, the housing is gated, and the draw for visitors is shopping, golf, cinemas and food courts rather than heritage. A large Korean community lives and works here. One night is enough unless you are visiting family, on business, or using it as a cheaper, quieter base for west Jakarta and Soekarno-Hatta airport.

There is no useful public transport inside Karawaci. Walk the Lippo Village core, and use ride-hailing apps (Gojek, Grab) or a hired car for anything beyond it. Toll roads link the estate to Jakarta, the airport and Tangerang; journeys double in the 07:00–09:00 and 16:30–19:30 peaks.
