Give Jingzhou one full day for the walled old city and the museum; sleep one night in Jingzhou District, not Shashi, unless you arrive by air.
Jingzhou is a prefecture-level city on the middle Yangtze in Hubei, capital of the State of Chu for over 400 years and a Three Kingdoms stronghold. The draw is the Ming-Qing city wall, still walkable and free, plus a museum whose Eastern Zhou and Qin-Han finds are the reason to come. Most sights sit inside or beside the old city, so one night covers it; two if you add the Chuwang chariot pits or Fantawild.

Buses cover the old city, the museum and the station for ¥1–2, paid by transit card or mobile QR code. Taxis meter at ¥7 for the first 2 km by day (05:00–23:00) and ¥10 for the first 3 km at night, then ¥1.7/km to 10 km and ¥2.5/km beyond. Shared bikes and e-bikes unlock by app for about ¥1–2 per 10–15 minutes; the terrain is flat and the wall circuit is easy on two wheels.
