Queimada dos Britos
Skip unless you are trekking the Lençóis Maranhenses between Atins and Santo Amaro: a half-day walk-in, hammock overnight, no shops or phone signal.
Queimada dos Britos is a tiny oasis settlement inside Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, about 7 km northwest of Baixa Grande. There are no roads, no shops, no cell coverage — only a handful of families who serve meals and rent hammock space to trekkers crossing the dunes. It is not a destination on its own; it is a rest point on the multi-day trail between Atins and Santo Amaro.
