The Northwest Suburbs are Chicagoland's post-war sprawl belt: office parks, big malls, chain hotels and O'Hare's western edge, spread across northwestern Cook, southern Lake and northern DuPage counties. They are not a sightseeing destination. Stay here when you need cheap parking, an airport-adjacent bed or a suburban base for family visits; day-trip in for the malls, the forest preserves and the historic villages, and ride Metra or drive into Chicago for the actual city.
