Wisconsin is two trips. The southeast (Milwaukee, Madison, Lake Michigan shore) is city-and-lake, reachable by train from Chicago. The north and west (Lake Superior, the Driftless Area, the Dells) is a car trip. Pick one. Driving Milwaukee to Bayfield is about 6 hours; a 4-night trip that tries both is mostly interstate.
