Langar
Langar is a brief Pamir Highway stop; spend 3–4 hours, not a base.
Langar is a tiny village on the Pamir Highway between Ishkashim and the Khargush post. It offers a homestay and a glimpse of Pamiri life, but no major attractions, so a half‑day visit is enough.

- Central Asia ↗Keep every hotel registration slip or its e-registration record until you leave Uzbekistan and Tajikistan; border officers can ask for proof of where you slept and fine gaps.
- Central Asia ↗Land borders between Central Asian states open and shut with politics and demarcation deals; confirm the exact post is open to foreigners the week you cross.
- Tajikistan ↗Check entry rules on the official e-visa portal only; many nationalities need an e-visa, and the Gorno-Badakhshan (Pamir) region needs an extra permit.
- Tajikistan ↗Carry Tajik somoni in small notes; markets, taxis and tea houses are cash-first, and cards work mainly in hotels and larger shops in Dushanbe.
- Tajikistan ↗Land borders, including those with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, have been closed or restricted at times: confirm the current status before you plan an overland leg.
