The Jezreel Valley is Israel's flat crossroad: the only easy east–west route between the coastal plain and the Jordan Valley, which is why Megiddo, Ein Harod and the old railway are here. It is farmland with archaeological sites and kibbutzim, not a resort. Trains run the length of the valley but stop outside the towns, so a car (or patience with buses) decides what you actually see. One full day covers Megiddo, Beit Alfa and Ein Harod; two days adds Gilboa and a kibbutz museum.
