Tiberias is a small resort city on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, one of the four Jewish holy cities and the place where the Jerusalem Talmud was compiled. Almost everything a visitor wants sits within a 2 km strip between the central bus station and the water, so it works as a one-day stop or a two-night base for the lake and the hot springs.

Watch out
Safety
- Shabbat: from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening most shops, restaurants and buses in the Jewish parts of town stop; Arab-run shops near the old town usually stay open.
- Swim only at marked beaches; the lake has sudden drop-offs and no lifeguard cover off-season.
- Hammat Tiberias National Park closes earlier than posted on holidays; check before you go.
- Aqua Kef, the floating water park at Ganim beach, is seasonal and may be closed in winter: check that it is open.
- Unofficial hot springs south of the lake are unmarked and unsupervised; go with a guide or not at all.

Coming as the guide grows
- Airport-to-bed contract for TLV: bus and shared-taxi options field-checked, late-arrival fallback, overnight rung.
- Four walking clusters with rescue anchors: central bus station and Rabin Square, the promenade and St Peter's Church, the Khan and castle, the tombs and upper neighbourhood.
- Place pages with verified hours (Hammat Tiberias, the Rambam tomb and heritage centre, the Dona Gracia Museum) and eat pages with last orders.
- Shabbat and holiday fixtures so gates A–D can go green.
