Book domestic flights first. Ethiopian Airlines runs the network out of Addis Ababa Bole and sells cheap add-on domestic sectors to passengers holding an international ticket, so buy the long-haul and the internal legs together if you can. Seats on the small tourist routes — Lalibela when it reopens, Axum, Gondar, Jinka, Robe — sell out in high season, and schedules change at short notice. Confirm your flight the day before, every time.
