Dalaman is an airport with a market town attached, not a resort. The town itself is a workaday place with a modern mosque, a few cafés and no stand-out sights; the beach and hotel strip sit at Sarıgerme, 10 km south. Most travellers who book a "Dalaman" holiday are coached straight out to Sarıgerme, Dalyan, Marmaris or Fethiye and never see the town. Treat it as a transfer point, or as a two-night beach stop if you want a quiet, all-inclusive base between the Lycian coast resorts.

Getting around
The town is small enough to walk. Muttaş local buses link the centre with Sarıgerme (8-12, hourly), the otogar and Ortaca (8-5, every 15 min) and the airport (8-11, roughly every 90 min, timed to Istanbul flights). For anywhere else you need a dolmuş, a taxi or a car: the bus station sits 5 km north of town on the D555, so factor in a taxi at both ends.

- Many Sarıgerme resorts are seasonal and close outside roughly May–October: confirm opening dates before booking a winter trip.
