Columbiana
Skip as a base: a half-day stop for Firestone Park and the Dutch Village dinner theater, 1 night if you book a show.
Columbiana is a small Ohio town (population about 1,200) between Youngstown and East Liverpool, on SR 7, SR 11 and SR 14. Its pull is one cluster on SR 14 — a Dutch-themed restaurant, shops, inn and dinner theater — plus a town park and a Shaker craft festival in August. Most travellers see it in a few hours from Youngstown or Salem; a night only makes sense if you have theater tickets.

- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- United States ↗Check whether you need an ESTA (Visa Waiver Program) or a visa on the official CBP and State Department sites; apply only through esta.cbp.dhs.gov, not third-party sites, and allow time before you book.
- United States ↗Several popular national parks use timed-entry or vehicle reservations in peak season; check each park's page on nps.gov and book on recreation.gov before fixing your dates.
- United States ↗Medical care is very expensive for visitors; buy travel insurance with high medical cover before you fly.
- United States ↗Tipping is expected: about 15–20% at sit-down restaurants and bars, and a tip for taxis, hotel staff and guides.

Getting around
You need a car. SR 7, SR 11 and SR 14 meet here; downtown is walkable in about 15 minutes end to end, but the Dutch Village cluster is a drive from Main Street. No useful local bus — check the county transit site if you have no car.

The Dutch Village Inn (52 rooms, indoor pool) sits with the restaurant and shops; the only real hotel cluster in town.
Downtown Main Street
Small inns and rentals near the Main Street Theater; walkable to cafés but few beds — book ahead.
Youngstown or Salem (outside town)
Chain hotels 25–35 min away; cheaper and easier if you are not seeing a show.
