Major city
Yokohama横浜
Treat Yokohama as a half-day trip from Tokyo for the harbour, Chinatown and museums; sleep in Tokyo unless you want a quieter base.
Rules in force · 3
Yokohama is Japan's second-largest city by population and lies about 30 minutes from central Tokyo by train. It opened to foreign trade in the 1850s and has a harbour district, Japan's largest Chinatown and a ramen museum. It works well as a relaxed day out or a base with easy Tokyo access.
