Yachimata八街
Skip as a destination: Yachimata is a commuter town with no major sights. Pass through for peanuts or a quiet rural walk, but plan zero nights.
Yachimata is a small city in central Chiba, known across Japan for its peanuts. The town has two train stations on the Sobu Main Line, a few farms and a quiet atmosphere, but no temples, museums or attractions that justify a dedicated trip. Most travellers pass through on the way to Choshi or Kujukuri Beach. A half-hour stop for fresh peanuts from a roadside stand is the ceiling.

- East Asia ↗Every border in East Asia is a full international border, Hong Kong and Macau included: an entry permission for one never covers the next.
- East Asia ↗Ferries between Korea, Japan and China cancel in rough seas and typhoons; keep a flight or a spare day behind every sea leg.
- Japan ↗IC cards (ICOCA/Suica) are topped up with cash at station machines.
- Japan ↗Smoking while walking is banned in most city centres; use designated areas.
