Vehari

Skip Vehari unless you have a specific reason (cotton trade, shrine pilgrimage via Pakpattan). Half a day is enough: visit the wildlife park and eat falooda, then move on to Multan or Bahawalpur.

Vehari is a mid-sized agricultural city in Southern Punjab, known for cotton and mangoes. It has one notable sight — the Vehari Wildlife Park — and a famous falooda house. Most travellers pass through on the road between Multan and Lahore via Pakpattan. It is not a destination in itself.

Watch out

Safety

Vehari is generally safe for day visits. The main risks are heatstroke in summer and limited medical facilities. Keep valuables out of sight and avoid walking alone after dark in unfamiliar areas.
  • Extreme summer heat: carry water, cover your head, avoid midday outdoors.
  • Limited accommodation: book in Multan or Bahawalpur instead.
  • Friday midday: many shops close for prayers.
  • Wildlife park hours are not confirmed online: check locally.
