Thanedar
Thanedar is a half-day stop for the apple orchards and mountain views, not a base: one night if you want to hike Hatu Peak or visit Kotgarh.
Thanedar is a small village in Southern Himachal Pradesh at 2,400 m, known for being the birthplace of apple cultivation in India. The main draw is the panoramic view of the Sutlej Valley and the Kinner Kailash massif, plus a few short walks. Most travellers use it as a lunch stop on the way to Narkanda or Sarahan.
