Prices and hours
Tbilisi is cheap by Western European standards. A metro ride, a bathhouse hour and a museum ticket together cost less than a mid-range dinner in London. Most sights open around 10:00 and close between 17:00 and 19:00; churches stay open longer and are free. The sulphur baths run late into the evening.

Getting there
Tbilisi International Airport sits about 17 km southeast of the centre. A train and bus 37 both run to the city, and taxis are cheap. From the centre, most old-town sights are walkable; use the metro for Didube (marshrutkas to Mtskheta and Kazbegi) and for the funicular base at Chavchavadze.
For day trips, marshrutkas leave from Didube station in the morning and return through the afternoon. Tours are easier if you want wine tasting in Kakheti, since you should not drive after a tasting.
