- Some food stalls charge visitors more than posted or change prices at the counter; Seoul has introduced price-display rules for Myeongdong street vendors (check). Pay only the listed price.
- Unlicensed money changers offering unusually good rates; use licensed exchange booths with posted rates.
- Cosmetics 'sale' signs on inflated list prices; the same product may be cheaper at a nearby chain store or online.
Accessibility
- Mostly flat, paved streets; evening food carts narrow the walkway and crowds make wheelchair travel slow.
- Myeongdong Station and Euljiro 1-ga Station have elevators at some exits (check which).

A line of history
Myeongdong was a commercial and banking center during the Japanese colonial period and after the Korean War, and it became a fashion and cosmetics district as international visitors to Seoul grew from the 2000s.

Not usually. It has the widest choice in one place and frequent tax refunds, but chain drugstores elsewhere and online prices can be lower.
