Saraikela is a small former princely capital in South Jharkhand, known for the Saraikela style of Chhau dance — a masked tribal dance recognised by UNESCO. The town has one main sight (the palace) and a few nearby temples and dams. Most travellers stop for a few hours on the way to Jamshedpur or Ranchi.
