Tinian
Take a 10‑minute flight from Saipan for a day‑trip (historic sites, beaches) or add one night for a relaxed beach stay.
Tinian is a small, historic island just 8 km southwest of Saipan. Most sights cluster around the former WWII airfields, and the beaches are reachable by short walks. One full day covers the main museums and a beach; an extra night lets you enjoy the quieter shoreline and casino.

- Oceania ↗Oceania's island states guard their farms and reefs at the border: tick 'yes' on the arrival card for any food, plant, animal product, soil or used outdoor gear, and let the officer decide.
- Oceania ↗Across the tropical South Pacific, cyclones are possible from November to April: choose insurance that covers weather delays and keep one spare night before a long-haul departure.
- Micronesia ↗Micronesia runs on a handful of weekly flights, so one cancellation can cost several days: build slack into every connection between islands.
- Northern Mariana Islands ↗US entry rules apply: a US visa, ESTA, or eligibility for the Guam–CNMI Visa Waiver Program. Check US Customs and Border Protection for your passport, and note that the Guam–CNMI waiver does not allow travel on to the rest of the US.
- Northern Mariana Islands ↗The CNMI runs its own customs and quarantine check: declare food, plants and animal products on arrival.
- Northern Mariana Islands ↗Second World War sites (Banzai Cliff, Tinian's North Field) are memorials; do not remove relics or climb on structures.
