Berea is a small college town in Kentucky's Bluegrass Region, about 24 km south of Richmond and 72 km south of Lexington off I-75. It is known for Berea College, an active arts and crafts scene, and the Berea College Forest trails at the Pinnacles. Most travellers see it in a day; a car makes the surrounding stops easy.

Two walkable cores: College Square and Old Town Artisan Village, about 15 minutes apart on foot. Parking is easy and mostly free, so a car is the simplest way to link them and reach the Pinnacles, Brushy Fork and Anglin Falls. Greyhound stops near Old Town; no local bus network worth planning around.
