White Butte
Skip as a base unless you have a car and a reason: it is three small towns 10–15 min east of Regina, good for one half-day of trails, golf or a drive-in.
White Butte is not one town. It is White City, Pilot Butte and Balgonie plus farmland, strung along the Trans-Canada Highway about 10 minutes east of Regina. There is no main street to wander and no station: you need a car. Come for the White Butte Trails, a round of golf, the drive-in or the June rodeo, then sleep in Regina unless a highway motel suits your route.

A car is required. The three towns sit 5–10 km apart with no useful bus service; Highway 1 links them to Regina, Highway 10 runs northeast to Fort Qu'Appelle, and Highway 46 and 364 are short commuter links. Distances are short but not walkable between towns.
