Gros-Mécatina is a two-village municipality on Quebec's Lower North Shore, reachable only by plane, coastal supply ship or the winter snowmobile trail. There is no road link to the rest of Quebec. Come for seabird islands, salmon rivers, boat trips and a working fishing harbour, not for services: two nights is the practical minimum, and you should confirm your bed and your flight before you commit.
