Sattur is a quiet town with low crime. The main risk is road traffic on NH7; cross carefully. The temple visit involves wading the Arjuna river in the wet season — check conditions locally.
  • No good accommodation: the two lodges are low-range, check the room before paying.
  • The Irukkankudi temple is 8 km (5 mi) out; buses run every 30–40 min but may be infrequent in the afternoon.
  • Fireworks and match factories are industrial, not tourist attractions — do not enter without permission.
