Getting around
A car is the practical choice for Biltmore, the Blue Ridge Parkway and day trips. Downtown itself is small enough to walk; ART city buses run Mon–Sat, cash only, and are infrequent outside downtown. Uber and Lyft cover the centre. Street parking is metered Mon–Sat 8:00–18:00 at about $1/hour, free on Sundays, after 18:00 and on city holidays; the three downtown garages are free for the first hour.
